This subseries contains records concering Consultorio San José, a medical clinic in Zaña that the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of London, Ontario operated in northern Perú. The following documents are in the Spanish language. There are financial documents with employee salaries dated on January 8, 1976, signed by Maria Magdalena Gozales Mires, Mabel Celeste Valdivia, and Santos Amado Cossio, and one document dated December 30, 1975, signed by Maria Cristina Diaz Galvez. These documents are from the Consultoria San José, in which the undersigned certifies that in accordance with Sub Directorial Resolution No. 401-75-921000 from the work region in the office of the Sub Directorate of the Work-Trujillo, to end their relationship with the Consultorio. There is also an official document addressed to the Reverend Mother Mary Brenda of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada, undersigned by about 300 authorities, citizens and inhabitants of the City of Zaña, Perú, thanking the Sisters for their work. The Sister names that are mentioned in the letter of thanks include: Jean Dores, Joanne Campbell, and Jean Dorstader. The following documents are in the English language. There are two official documents certified by the Chatham Chamber of Commerce, Ontario; one dated January 15, 1969, and the other dated March 24, 1969. These documents are lists that give itemized inventories of donated drugs, medicine, and medical supplies. There is also a document titled ‘Consultorio San José’ and the Future,” that discusses the present political, economic, and religious situation of the Consultorio, the decision and reasons for permanently closing it, and hope for the future for the people in Zaña.
