Scope and content

This subseries primarily contains two historical summaries of the events and activities of the Peruvian mission of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of London, Ontario. The first summary covers from 1962 to 1994, titled “The Sisters of St. Joseph of London – Peruvian Missions,” which includes a list of 18 Sisters who worked in Perú with the priests of the London diocese. The second summary covers from 1868 to 2005, titled “History of the Sisters of St. Joseph in the Diocese of London.” The documents were for Reverend Father Thomas Francis (Frank) O'Connor, who served in the parish of Oyotún in northern Perú from 1971 to 1978, to be included in the Perú history for the Diocese of London. There are also correspondences from March 2004 to May 2005 from the Diocesan History Committee to the Religious Communities in the Diocese of London, email letters from June to December 2005 between Sister Margot Ritchie and Louise Mauffette-Leenders, Sister Mary Zimmer, Sister Kitty Stafford, and Sister Loretta Manzara. As well as there is a list of 23 Sisters who served in Perú from 1962 to 1994.
