Scope and content

Ignatia Hall was the infirmary wing of Mount St. Joseph Motherhouse built as a Centennial Project in 1968; it housed Senior Sisters as well as members of the Generalate and the Novice classrooms. Subseries contains a local history of Ignatia Hall, reports and personnel information, correspondence regarding plans for Ignatia Hall. There are also furniture receipts, furniture donation logs and step-by-step instructions for the blessing of the new altar for Ignatia Hall. Additionally, there is a diary containing “Ignatia History” written by Sr. Marguerite Sullivan, and a residence list of Sisters who were residents of Ignatia Hall (1982-1987), and a Pre-Chapter update 1975-1991 which discusses notable occurrences at Ignatia Hall. Furthermore, there are Ignatia Hall history Chronicles for 1975-1983 and 1996-1999, Ignatia Community Histories 2000-2001, “Ignatia Notes” newsletters 1997-1998, and Operational Reviews from 2000-2004 which are reports and presentations that deal with the history, values and goals of the Sisters in Ignatia Hall.
