Fatima Hall was established in 1957 in a section of the original Mount St. Joseph building (former Hellmuth College) for a project called the Aspirancy (1957-1967). The Aspirancy provided girls who were inclined to religious life an opportunity to study their vocation and complete their high school before entering as postulants. This subseries contains pamphlets for the Fatima Hall Aspirancy or Junior Seminary, programs for plays put on by the Aspirancy students such as Halo Round Star which were a series of performances organized in honour of Mother Margaret Coughlin, the General Superior, (includes photographs and a tribute), and a local history of the former Mount St. Joseph and Fatima Hall. There are also aspirant student lists, newspaper clippings related to Fatima Hall, and a scrapbook dedicated to the demolition of Fatima Hall in 1976. The original Mount St. Joseph building housed a Kindergarten and pre-kindergarten which ran from 1954 to 1975 in the basement of the chapel for children aged four to six years who lived outside London. This subseries contains a Kindergarten ledger for 1961-1975.
This series contains a feast day book created by the congregation about the founder of the order, Reverend Jean Pierre Médaille, to celebrate her feast day, May 20, 1967. It includes histories, prayers, and various musings on his impact written by the Sisters. His name was anglicized for this book as Reverend John Peter Médaille.
This series consists of correspondence and reports relating to the Federation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Canada, an umbrella organization for the Sisters of St. Joseph congregations in Canada. The Federation’s mission is to support each congregation in living out the charism of active and inclusive love and collaborating globally with other congregations of the Sisters of St. Joseph. The Federation has an Associates/Companions committee that supports and provides a communications network for Associate directors in the three Canadian congregations.
This series contains surveys, survey notes, reports, correspondence, pamphlets and promotional materials, and news clippings. The correspondence includes significant contributions from Sr. Janet Zadorsky who administered the Associates Program after Sr. Doreen Kraemer, and along with reports, focus on meetings and committee members of the Federation. Also included are pamphlets and promotional materials pertaining to events the Federation sponsored. There is a Sudbury region report details the activities of a Federation conference held in Sudbury, Ontario, in May 2017. Finally, there is a survey and summary of the results. The survey was from the Federation to Associate group leaders aiming to collect information on Associate directors to better plan Federation programs and facilitate connection between directors.
