This subseries contains photographs, slides, news clippings, correspondence, and a poem related to the Sisters of St. Joseph of London, during their ministry in St. Thomas, Ontario. There are two photographs of thirty Sisters at their centennial celebration on May 6, 1979. There are two slides that depict Sisters in St. Thomas in 1959.

There are news clipping related to the closing and demolition of St. Joseph’s Convent , the history of St. Joseph’s Convent, the remaining Sister-teachers in St. Thomas, St. Joseph’s School of Music, the Junior Professed Choristers of Mount St. Joseph of London, Ontario in 1966, and Sister Mary Boere’s retirement as a teacher in 1996, St. Joseph’s High School. In addition, there is a 1994 correspondence from Sister Mary Boere to the Grand Knight of Council, related to the closing of St. Joseph’s Convent in 1994, and there is a farewell poem to Sister Mary (Elizabeth) Kieran Woods, Sister Mary Boere, and Sister Patrick (Alma Margaret) Sloan.

This series consists mainly of photographs of the various events and activities of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in London, Ontario, during their foreign mission in northern Perú. There are four photo albums from 1962 to 1998, with titles and captions for the photographs. The subject matter depicted primarily includes the Sisters teaching elementary students, conducting classes with married couples, leading art, music, and dance classes, running art exhibitions, clothing sales, and soup kitchens, managing a sewing centre and a bakery, assembling school desks, setting up a metalsmith workshop, moving furniture and belongings, live performances of the Peruvian folkloric troupe Alma Zañera, the openings and blessings of new centres, retreats and conferences, seasonal celebrations, welcoming and farewell parties, and local Peruvian feasts and events. In addition, there are loose photographs that capture the daily life of the Sisters and Canadian priests ministering in Perú. Of noteworthy consideration are photographs and news clippings of 1982 to 1983 and 1997 to 1998 El Niño, a climate pattern of unusually warm ocean temperatures in the Equatorial Pacific that causes severe flooding. There are also hand drawn maps, handwritten notes, greeting cards, a poster artwork that has seven captioned photographs of the Sisters and Canadian priests, as well as a handmade calendar, from 1980 that has original drawings and a group picture of the Sisters in Cayalti, Perú.

This subseries contains a photocopy of a newspaper article titled, “Hospital chaplains head to Ground Zero to offer comfort – trio brace themselves to witness aftermath of Sept. 11 devastation.” It was authored by Paul Northcott, a staff writer for The Journal, in Edmonton, and published in October 2001. The news clipping was sent to Sister Connie Kuefler from Sister Alice Caza. The news article is about Sister Ethel Steinkey, chaplain at Misericordia Community Hospital, who was about to embark on a two-week long mission to New York City offer counselling to the crew at Ground Zero who were tasked with clearing away the rubble left behind in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers. The staff at the Community Hospital had raised funds to pay for her flights and lodging. There is a printed picture of a profile of a smiling Sister Ethel by Ed Kaiser, The Journal staff photographer.

This includes articles about the sale of the Mount St. Joseph Motherhouse, a 5-year-old boy injured in a sledding incident on the slopes of Mount St. Joseph and the 100th anniversary of the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1968.
