These materials include workshop booklets with content that ranges from recipes and nutritional facts to behaviours and virtues that reflect an ideal homemaker. The homemakers list contains an undated list of Sisters who served as homemakers.

This subseries contains records related to the ministry of music at the congregation. There are two histories: one for the Congregation’s music ministry in London, Ontario from 1867-1992, and one about “music” at Mount St. Joseph Academy. The music ministry history contains biographical information about specific teachers as well as key locations where Sisters taught in London, Ontario. The history of music at Mount St. Joseph Academy contains information about how students could interact with music at the Academy through Music School or various clubs (i.e. Glee Club). The subseries also contains lists of Sisters who served as music teachers from 1868-1990.

General Secretary series

This series consists of records produced in the course of the business activity of the General Secretary. There are documents pertaining to the history of the Sisters of St. Joseph, a pilgrimage taken in 2005, memorials and anniversaries such as the 135th and 138th anniversaries of the founding of the London Congregation, and Mother St. John Fontbonne. The series also contains material on the CSJ International Center in Le Puy-en-Velay, France, the sale of the Mount St. Joseph Motherhouse in 2004, and activity reports.

The 1959-1969 Generalate Bulletins were titled “Reverend Mother Writes” and were written by Mother Julia Moore, the General Superior from 1959-1971, at the Mount St. Joseph Motherhouse. The newsletters contain news from St. Mary’s Hospital, and St. Joseph’s School of Music. Also contained in this subseries is information on donations, Sisters’ travels, academic accomplishments of various Sisters, in memoriam notices of deceased Sisters, and other issues that relate to the congregational community.

The 1979-1987 Generalate Bulletins were written by Sister Katherine McKeough. She was the General Superior from 1979-1987. These bulletins contain calendars with important dates, information on donations, and general news as it relates to the community at Mount St. Joseph. There is also an outline of the areas of responsibility of Sisters on the General Council.

The General Superior between Sister Julia Moore, and Sister Katherine McKeough was Mother Mary Brendan (Cathleen) Flynn (1971-1979), and her newsletters are in subseries 07: “Council Letters.”
