Scope and content

This subseries contains photographs and news clippings from the Sisters of St. Joseph of Pembroke, Ontario’s Peru Mission. There are photographs of the Sisters, novices, postulants, associates, volunteers, the Oblates, priests, children, students, and puppies. There are also photographs of celebrations such as a farewell party, Christmas, receptions and professions, the wedding of a Grace and Kevin from Lima on September 17, 1971, and Mother’s Day at Colegio San Jose in 1972. There are also photographs of Chincha Alta, the Peru coast, and a beached dolphin. One photograph is of Sisters in Barrhead, Alberta.
The news clippings are in English and Spanish and cover the Sisters’ activities in Peru and general news about Peru. There is also the July 25, 1977, issue of Caretas Ilustración Peruana.
There is also a prayer card from the 2009 to 2010 Year for Priests and a Spanish booklet from the 50th anniversary of the Sisters being in Chincha Alta.
