Scope and content
This subseries contains records from the 1991 Conference for the Sisters of St. Joseph in Peru and celebrations the Sisters of St. Joseph of Pembroke hosted, attended, or participated in related to their mission in Peru.
There are invitations, news clippings, event programs and bulletins, and correspondence of congratulations from the Sisters’ 25th and 50th anniversaries of being in Peru. Accompanying the anniversary materials are Spanish booklets outlining the Sisters’ history in Peru. There is also a reflection from Sister Nora Kelly on her time in Peru and accounts from the Sisters who travelled to Peru for the 50th anniversary. These accounts are accompanied by the May 2024 issue of the Congregational Leadership Team’s newsletter, Update, which was a spotlight on the Peru Mission. A Spanish booklet 50 Aňos de Vida Sacerdotal, celebrating Father Santiago Calle Santos, and a paper on evangelization and the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph which was presented at the 1991 Conference for the Sisters of St. Joseph Working in South America are also present.
