This sub-series contains records regarding events including memorials and anniversaries. There are a number of booklets and pamphlets relating to the 135th anniversary of the founding of the London Congregation, and the memorial of Mother St. John Fontbonne.
This subseries provides reflections and topics proposed, working documents and possible materials to be included into discussions at Assemblies. There are four photos of people during the Assembly of 1993. The Assembly days of 2001 include opening reflections, reading excerpts and mission statements; and community reports. The Assembly days of 2001 include papers on prophets in religious life; and prayers. The Assembly days of 2009 include some related correspondence; lists of participants; and individual and communal reflections on how to live faithfully.
This subseries contains material from the memorial Mas for Rev. Joseph Chavely and service and event schedules for the Church of St. John the Apostle.
This series contains records pertaining to events held at, in association with, or regarding St. Joseph's Hospital, London, and its affiliate institutions. These include invitations, reports on events, a tour script, event programmes and orders of service, correspondence, posters, pamphlets, photographs, a magazine and newsletters, postcards, budgets, lists of guests, and planning materials. Events include the 1981 Grosvenor Facility addition opening, A Stitch in Time play, the St. Joseph's Hospital School of Radiography 1966 graduation, Doors Open London, the closing of the St. Joseph's Hospital Chapel in 2007, and the 1996 opening of the Dr. Lionel Reese Magnetic Resonance Imaging Centre.
This subseries contains records of the various events and activities of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in London, Ontario during their foreign mission in northern Perú from 1962-1992. Events are primarily from 1962 to 1985 of missioning departure ceremonies in London, celebrations from 1988 honouring 25 years of the Sisters’ work in the parish of the Zaña Valley, and farewell parties from 1963 to 1985 for Sisters in the Chiclayo Province, Perú returning to Canada. There were Intercongregational Meetings of the Sisters of St. Joseph, that took place in Perú, where a representative of each Congregation presented a summary of achievements in their community in the past year. Sisters who participated came from Mexico, Haiti, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Bolivia, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Perú, United States of America (Buffalo, Boston, Michigan), and Canada (London, Pembroke). There are programs, agendas, correspondences, and minutes in the English language for meetings that took place in 1967, 1968, and 1969, and in the Spanish language for meetings that took place in 1970, 1983, 1986, and 1991. The Meetings included guest speakers on a specific topic, panel discussions, round tables in breakout groups and business meetings. The Sisters also reported on the vocational activities from the previous year, and shared their work being done in clinics, hospitals, and in social work. This file also contains printed programs and announcement letters of departures, handmade songbooks, prayer cards, a July 1991 newspaper article titled, “CSJ/SSJ’s Working in Latin America Meet,” and a black and white group photograph of the Sisters in Lima, Perú, at the Intercongregational Meeting from February 19-20, 1983.
Of special note are the original program, invitation and letter for the first inaugural Perú mission and departure ceremony for Sisters Eugene Bond, Cyril Reynolds, Olivia Dochstader, and Juliana Kerrigan, on November 18, 1962, at St. Peter’s Basilica, London, Ontario. It was officiated by the Right Reverend A. P. Mahoney, vicar general of the London Diocese and rector of St. Peter’s Seminary in London, Ontario. Other noteworthy items are the parts of an original artwork with 43 signatures, and a coloured pencil drawing of St. Joseph and Jesus. The original artwork was executed by P. Villa A. in Cayalti, Perú, dated 1988. On May 1, 1988, the drawing was presented to Sister Jean Dochstader on behalf of all the Sisters on the 25th anniversary of their service in Perú.
This subseries contains records from the 1991 Conference for the Sisters of St. Joseph in Peru and celebrations the Sisters of St. Joseph of Pembroke hosted, attended, or participated in related to their mission in Peru.
There are invitations, news clippings, event programs and bulletins, and correspondence of congratulations from the Sisters’ 25th and 50th anniversaries of being in Peru. Accompanying the anniversary materials are Spanish booklets outlining the Sisters’ history in Peru. There is also a reflection from Sister Nora Kelly on her time in Peru and accounts from the Sisters who travelled to Peru for the 50th anniversary. These accounts are accompanied by the May 2024 issue of the Congregational Leadership Team’s newsletter, Update, which was a spotlight on the Peru Mission. A Spanish booklet 50 Aňos de Vida Sacerdotal, celebrating Father Santiago Calle Santos, and a paper on evangelization and the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph which was presented at the 1991 Conference for the Sisters of St. Joseph Working in South America are also present.
Subseries contains information and photographs about the Christmas, Halloween, Pentecost, 350th Celebration, Commissioning Service, All Saint’s Night, Easter, and other Motherhouse special events. Also included is correspondence between the administration and the Sisters concerning the events. There are also event clippings, bulletins and programs, song sheets, photographs, and posters. The subseries also has a photo album depicting the All Saint’s Night celebration at Mount St. Joseph.
This sub-series consists of records related to several Guatemalan events both during and after the Sisters’ time there. Some of these materials are related to the Colegio San José, including an honour of merit award for the school’s 20th anniversary, a 25th anniversary address, and a recognition of devotion award given to the Sisters on school’s 40th anniversary. There are also materials related to the Silver Jubilee of the Diocese of Zacapa, including a pamphlet and program of events. There are also pamphlets of ceremonies where Sisters in Hamilton bade farewell to those leaving for Guatemala.
This series consists of programmes, speeches, histories, meeting minutes, reports, photocopies of newspaper clippings, a presentation packet, award recipient list, correspondence, a booklet, guest list and seating plan, a notice, a brief, schedule “E” Report of Todgham and Case Limited, fact sheets (not complete and completed versions), an invitation, event flyers, newspaper clipping, bulletin, St. Joe’s Alive newsletter, a memo and a poster. Two other materials that are contained in this series are eight newspapers from June 1891 and the Catholic mutual benefit association roll of officers 1891 certificate from when the hospital first opened. The newspapers include Chatham Market Guide (1891), The Chatham Journal (1891), The Detroit Free Press (1891), The Catholic Record (1891), The Chatham Weekly Banner (1891), C. M. B. A. Journal and Catholic Society New (1891), Chatham Tri-Weekly Planet (1891), and The Globe (1891).
This series consists of videocassettes with footage of a celebration for Sister Emerita Godal in Chatham, Ontario and of the Sisters of St. Joseph of London’s Jubilee celebrations on June 12, 1993 and at Blessed Sacrament Church in Chatham, Ontario on June 3, 1993.
