Scope and content

This subseries contains legal and architectural records of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Josehp of London, Ontario during their western mission in the Archdiocese of Edmonton. There is correspondence from February 6 to 10, 2004 relating to the Sisters request for certified copies of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Province of Alberta Statutes Repeal Act from RMRF Barristers and Solicitors, Edmonton, Alberta. There is also a list of Sisters who were the Directors of the Alberta Corporation of Sisters of St. Joseph, from 1927 to 2003. This corporation was dissolved in 2003. In addition, there are 17 black and white photographs from November 20, 1960, to June 22, 1961, from the Office of Eugene Olekshy, Architect of the St. Joseph’s Convent Regional House in Edmonton, Alberta. The photographs include construction of the chapel, staircase, living room, refectory and outdoor views from the southwest and southeast. There are also four proposed layout drawings of the basement, first and second floors, and the exterior of the building.
